In 1985, Marc Vanrunxt created one of his first performances entitled Hyena. Almost forty years later, he reverts to the same title but in duplicate for his new creation. Hyena Hyena is not a remake or sequel, but a nod to the wondrous 1980s.
Together with the three dancers, Igor Shyshko, Robson Ledesma and Nathan Ooms, Vanrunxt sets out a composition in time and space and drew inspiration from Sigmar Polke's painting Magic Quadrate. As a spectator, you get a glimpse into four imaginary rooms with four different atmospheres.

It's all hidden in their moving bodies,
the hidden language of their souls,
it's partly the language that they don't want to show to us,
to whom they are so exposed.
