Michiel Vandevelde, in addition to being a choreographer - and Maker of Dans in Brugge - is also a curator, writer and editor. In his work, he makes audiences think about other social, economic and cultural alternatives in response to dominant logics. Together with composer and musician Eva Reiter, he is working on an experimental opera, The Rise, expected in 2025. The performance asks questions about language, access to knowledge, and other forms of coexistence. The Rise reverses the roles of dancers and musicians. During the workshop, we actively seek the connection between dance and music.
